How to use flonslist.

1. Getting started: sign up & sign in

Already have an account? Tap Sign in in the top navigation, enter your email and password, and you'll be back on your dashboard.

Browsing without an account

You don't need an account to view a wishlist someone has shared with you - just open the link. You'll only need to sign in if you want to create your own list, run an event, or save your progress.

2. Creating & managing wishlists

A wishlist is a living document. Add things as you think of them, organise by occasion, and let your circle do the rest.

There are four easy ways to add items:

• Paste a product link. Copy a URL from any online store, paste it into the "Add item" field, and we'll automatically pull in the title, image, and price.
• Add manually. Type a name, add a note (size, colour, where to buy), and attach a photo if you'd like.
• Use the import helper. If a product link doesn't import cleanly, the import helper walks you through fixing it in a few taps.
• Share straight from your phone (app installed). If you've installed flonslist as an app on your phone (see section 7 below), you can add an item without even opening flonslist first:
  1. You're shopping in your browser or a shopping app and find something you like.
  2. Tap your phone's Share button (the arrow-up icon on iPhone, the three-dots / share icon on Android).
  3. In the share menu, choose flonslist.
  4. Pick the wishlist you want to add it to. Done!
  It's the fastest way to capture an idea the moment you spot it.

Edit, open, and remove items

• To edit or remove an item, tap the kebab icon (the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the item) and choose the action you want.
• To open the original product page, tap anywhere on the item, or use the View website button. We'll open the store in a new tab so you don't lose your place.

3. Creating & managing events

Events let you bring people together around a shared occasion. Flonslist supports two event types:

• Gift wishlist (registry). One person is the recipient. Everyone else views their wishlist and reserves items they'd like to give. Great for birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and housewarmings.
• Gift swap (Secret Santa). Everyone in the group both gives and receives one gift. Flonslist pairs people up so each person has exactly one match. Perfect for office parties, holidays, and big families.

Create an event

There are three ways to start a new event:

• Open the Events tab and tap Create event.
• Tap the FAB (the floating + button at the bottom of the screen on mobile) and choose Event.
• On desktop, click the Add new button in the top-right corner and choose New Event.

Pairing options (gift swaps)

For gift swap events you can decide how everyone gets matched:

• Auto-pair. Flonslist randomly draws who gives to whom. Quick, fair, and surprise-friendly.
• Manual pair. You choose every match yourself if you want full control (handy when you already know who should give to whom).
• Exclusion rules. Add rules to keep certain pairings from happening. For example, you can stop spouses from drawing each other, prevent siblings from being matched, or block any specific pair you'd rather avoid. The auto-pair respects every rule you set.

Edit an event later

Open the event from the Events tab and use the Edit sections to update the details, add or remove participants, or tweak pairing options. Participants are notified of important changes automatically.

4. Sharing wishlists & events

Get the right list to the right people without it leaking outside the gifting group.

Share a wishlist

1. Open the wishlist you want to share.
2. Tap the Share button at the top of the list.
3. Copy the private link, or send it directly via email, message, or your favourite messaging app.

Anyone with the link can view your list. They don't need an account. They do need to verify their email address, or sign in (or sign up) if they want to reserve an item, so we know who's getting what.

Hidden reservations

When a friend reserves an item on your list, it stays hidden from you so the surprise isn't ruined. Other gift-givers can still see it's been claimed, so nothing gets bought twice.

Share an event

Event sharing happens as part of the event creation flow (see section 3). When you create an event and add participants by email, they'll each receive a personal invitation link when you launch. Participants click the link, verify their email (or sign in if they already have an account), and they're in.

For Secret Santa or gift-swap events, each participant receives a private notification revealing only their match, so the surprise is preserved for everyone else.

5. Gift registry vs gift swap — what's the difference?

Both let you organise gifts with a group, but they work in opposite directions. Pick the one that matches the moment.

Not sure which to use? If one person is the gift recipient, choose a registry. If everyone in the group is giving and receiving, choose a gift swap.

6. Handy tips

• Create multiple wishlists. You're not limited to one list. Make a "Birthday 2026" list, a "Christmas ideas" list, and an ongoing "Things I'll want eventually" list - whatever works for you.
• Link existing wishlists to events. Already have a wishlist? You can attach it to an event so participants see exactly what you'd like, without recreating anything.
• Add notes to items. Include size, colour preference, or a "you can find it at…" hint so gift-givers get exactly the right thing.
• Set a date on your event. We'll send gentle reminders to participants as the date approaches so no one forgets.
• Pick a fun avatar. Update your profile avatar so friends instantly recognise your shared lists in their feed.

7. Install flonslist on your phone or computer

Flonslist works like a regular website, but it can also be installed as an app on your phone, tablet, or computer. There's nothing to download from an app store. It uses a modern web feature called a Progressive Web App (or PWA), which is just a fancy way of saying "a website that behaves like an app".

How to install on iPhone or iPad (Safari)

How to install on Android (Chrome)

1. Open flonslist.com in Chrome.
2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right.
3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
4. Confirm by tapping Install.
5. The flonslist icon will appear on your home screen and in your app drawer.

You may also see a small "Install flonslist" banner appear in Chrome the first time you visit. Tapping it does the same thing.

How to install on a computer (Chrome or Edge)

1. Open flonslist.com in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
2. Look at the right-hand side of the address bar. You'll see a small install icon (a monitor with a down-arrow, or a + in a circle).
3. Click it, then click Install.
4. Flonslist will open in its own window and add a shortcut to your desktop and Start menu / Dock.

Why install it?

• One-tap access. A flonslist icon sits on your home screen, just like Instagram or your banking app. No typing the address each time.
• Full-screen, no browser bars. It opens in its own window so it feels like a real app.
• Faster loading. Common pages are stored on your device, so they open quickly even on patchy Wi-Fi.
• Add items by sharing (mobile). Once installed, flonslist appears in your phone's Share menu, so you can save items from any shopping app or website in two taps.
• Smaller than an app store app. It uses very little space on your device.
• Always up to date. No app updates to install. You always get the latest version automatically.

How to remove it later

On a phone, press and hold the flonslist icon and choose Remove or Uninstall just like any other app. On a computer, open flonslist, click the three-dot menu in the app window, and choose Uninstall flonslist. Your account and lists are not affected.
