Automatic pairings, manual pairings, and exclusions

Set up a gift draw where you decide who can be matched and who can view the results.

Choose pairing visibility

Secret pairings hide the full draw from participants. Only turn this off if you want everyone to see all the pairings.

Add exclusions first

  • A one-way exclusion means one person cannot be matched with a specific recipient.
  • A mutual exclusion stops two people from being paired with each other.
  • Set exclusions for people in the same household, recent pairings, or any matches the group wants to skip.

Create the draw

  1. Check the participant list

Check that everyone who needs to be in the draw has joined.

  2. Set any manual matches

Set up specific giver and recipient pairs if you need to control certain matches.

  3. Pair the remaining participants

Let the system automatically match the rest, making sure exclusions are followed.

  4. Review the result

Fix any incomplete or invalid pairings before you save the draw.
